The summer break in Formula 1 is perfectly timed because we’ve got London 2012 fever at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes, as Britain’s capital welcomes athletes from all over the world.

Lewis and Jenson both carried “Go Team GB” messages on their helmets at the recent Hungarian Grand Prix, and Lewis honoured his family connections with an additional message to Team Grenada. While working towards winning the Hungarian GP our race crew missed out on the Games' cycling road races, which passed near the McLaren Technology Centre, but there is plenty more to see with another week of action and the entire Paralympic Games to come.

The McLaren Technology Centre may be in temporary hibernation during the summer break, but whether you’re from the UK or visiting from overseas you can still get a taste of the world of McLaren this summer.

If you’re heading to Hyde Park to watch the action on the big screens, or to enjoy the marathon 10km swim (8 and 9 August) or triathlon swim (4 and 7 August) in the Serpentine, you’re incredibly close to the home of the MP4-12C and 12C Spider, our flagship showroom at One Hyde Park. You’ll also be able to find us at nearby Harrods and Selfridges, with the fabulous Links of London McLaren jewellery collection and the McLaren Sport by HUGO BOSS range on display. Links of London themselves are on South Molton Street, just by Bond Street tube station.

Going to the Olympic Park? You can find our newly opened Inside Track store at Westfield Stratford City (which is only open to Olympic ticket-holders on August 3-4) and get a close-up look at a real Formula 1 car.

As a centrepiece of world culture London boasts an incredible number of free-to-enter museums, and we’re proud to be part of an exhibition at the Science Museum that champions British excellence in manufacturing. Make It In Great Britain is open until September 9 and features a Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 car, an MP4-12C sports car, and a Specialized S-Works + McLaren Venge high-performance bicycle as raced by Mark Cavendish.
