We are all shocked and deeply saddened at the news of Charlie Whiting's passing. Charlie's contribution to Formula 1 can never be underestimated and his pragmatic, professional and understated approach to his work made him highly effective, as well as a great colleague.

Formula 1 owes an enormous debt of gratitude to a man who will be remembered as one of the giants of our sport, who played a central role in transforming Formula 1 into the global powerhouse it is today.
