Your guide to the Goodwood Festival of Speed – presented by OKX
Supercars, super drivers and super prizes: how to make the most of the GFOS

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the closest you’ll come to owning a time machine: walking around it feels like being simultaneously transported into the past and the future, with its collection of historic racing cars and forward-thinking technology.
Britain’s ultimate motoring garden party is coming up this weekend, from 13 – 16 July, and we’ve got a bumper few days of action for you, with a special 60th-anniversary line-up primed to fire up the famous hill. Presented by OKX, we’ve compiled a guide to help you navigate the 1.16-mile-long Goodwood circuit and gigantic 12,000-acre estate and make the most out of the Festival of Speed.
We’ve asked Mary Poppins if we can borrow her famous space-defying handbag, and we’re currently stuffing it full of World Championship-winning cars from our illustrious past, some futuristic McLaren Automotive machinery, and as many prizes and giveaways as we can manage.
As Dick Van Dyke’s chimney-sweeping character Bert so famously said: "There's the whole world at your feet. And who gets to see it but the birds, the stars, and those who attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed.”

We did try and fit Lando, Oscar and Mika Häkkinen in Mary Poppins’ bag as well, but apparently, that goes against health and safety, so we’ve asked CEO Zak Brown if they can get a lift with him and Emerson Fittipaldi, and we’re hoping for an epic Formula 1-themed carpool karaoke…
They’re not the only special guests we’ll be seeing across the four days of hill-climbing action, with some motor racing A-Listers on-route to Goodwood to drive a huge selection of McLarens, but more on that later.
As we’ve already alluded to, Lando and Oscar will both be at the GFOS this year, with the former making an appearance on Saturday and the latter on Sunday, and they’ll be clambering into the cockpit of James Hunt’s race-winning M26-02.
They’ll be joined by fellow McLaren racers Tanner Foust and Emma Gilmour, who will be switching the Odyssey 21 for the Can-AM-winning M8D-01 and the multi-F1 title-winning MP4/2A-02, respectively. Meanwhile, Zak and Neil Oatley – the mind behind many of our most successful cars - will both be firing up our founder Bruce McLaren’s first race-winning car, the Austin 7 Ulster, for a spin.

Emerson Fittipaldi and Mika Häkkinen will roll back the years as they get behind their title-winning McLarens. Emerson will be in his M23-05 all four days, whilst Mika will drive his MP4/14A-04 on Saturday and Sunday.
Twenty years on from his time as a McLaren Formula 1 driver, Martin Brundle will be climbing back into the cockpit of one of our cars, with the beloved Sky Sports presenter set to drive the MP4/2A-02 on Friday and Saturday. Our 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans winning hero, JJ Lehto will get an opportunity to drive our 2008 F1 Drivers’ Championship-winning MP4/23A-05.
If this wasn’t already more than enough, Gil de Ferran will be running the 1974 Indy 500 winning M16C-05, and Emanuele Pirro will be in the MP4/2B-03 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Talk about spoiling you rotten.

As well as sending a selection of our iconic cars for a tour of the Goodwood circuit, we’ll also have a bunch on display for you to gawp, gaze and marvel at, including the Triple Crown liveried MCL60, our Extreme E car, the MP4/4-01, and the 1995 Le Mans’ winning F1 GTR – that is, if we can stop JJ Lehto from running off with it. You can catch all of these at the McLaren main stand.

Our friends at McLaren Automotive will be bringing along some cars we wouldn’t mind running off with ourselves. Our stunning selection of supercars wouldn’t look out of place in Goodwood’s “Future Lab,” which houses revolutionary technological inventions, but we’ll keep them safe in the McLaren stand. We’d allow extra time to explore these and a strong friend to pull you away when it’s time to leave, as you’ll not be able to take your eyes off them.
You’ll be able to get up close and personal with the 750S, the Solus GT and the showstopping Artura before watching them all take on a tour of the track. We’ll also be sending the P1, the Senna and the Elva for a trek up the Hillclimb.
Points mean prizes, and seeing as we scored a whole bunch of them at last weekend’s British Grand Prix, we’ve got plenty of prizes to give away… But that doesn’t mean we’ll make it easy for you. You’ll have to work for your McLaren goodies as we’ll be hiding 60 McLaren Speedmarks around the festival daily for you to track down. If you’re a smart cookie and manage to find one, then all you’ll need to do is scan the QR code on the back, and it will tell you how to claim your mystery prize from the McLaren tent.
If you prefer a physical challenge to a mental one, we’ll get one of our drivers to complete the Batak challenge every day. If you can out-score them, you’ll be put into a draw to win a mystery prize.
