Cap it off

The must-have headwear for any McLaren fan

Alas, Cap Week is all but over. With the help of our official headwear partner New Era, we restocked old favourites and added new designs to the McLaren Store. To cap it off (see what we did there?), here’s a rundown of some of our favourite headpieces that you can still get for your noggin…

2021 Team 9FIFTY Cap

For those who want the ultimate expression of McLaren in cap form. The 2021 Team Cap marries style with substance. In collaboration with New Era, we packed this cap with enough technology to ensure it performs any place, any time. We’re talking Outlast moisture-wicking hex heat management tech, an IceSkin sweatband designed to keep you comfortable in extreme heat and SPF 50+ UV sun protection. It all adds up to a cap that puts all others firmly in the shade.

Essentials 9FORTY Cap

In an anthracite colourway and featuring a smaller McLaren logo, the Essentials 9FORTY Cap is versatile – it can be styled up or down however you like – and perfect for those looking for a more subtle way of displaying their love for the team.

Gulf Classic 9FORTY Cap

Inspired by the special livery celebrating McLaren Racing and Gulf Oil International’s historic partnership at the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix, this is a classic New Era 9FORTY McLaren cap in motorsport’s most iconic colour combination: Gulf Racing blue and orange. What’s not to like?

Lando Norris British GP 9FORTY Cap

God save all dressed in green
Long live our noble Queen
God save the Queen
Send her victorious
Happy and glorious…

Ahem! Not sure what came over us there, but something about the Lando Norris British GP 9FORTY Cap got us feeling all patriotic. Whether you’re a Brit, an Anglophile, or just have a thing for red, white and blue in Lando’s signature Glitch pattern, this is the cap for you.

US GP 9FIFTY Cap

And for those of you with a thing for red, white and blue, but not the Glitch pattern, then there’s the US GP 9FIFTY Cap. U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

Hypertone 9FIFTY Cap

We still can’t quite get our heads around the Hypertone 9FIFTY Cap, and we love it. It’s bold, looks way ahead of its time and the iridescent fabric is kinda trippy. A futuristic fusion of fashion and fan wear.

Daniel Ricciardo US GP Cap

Speaking of trippy, have you seen the Daniel Ricciardo US GP Cap? Who are we kidding, of course you have! Pastel pinks, cerulean blues, you can get lost in a kaleidoscope of colour with this psychedelic beauty.

Lando Norris Glitch Bucket Hat

We’ll admit, this isn’t a cap. But it’s still more than worthy of taking pride of place on your cranium. 90s fashion has been making a resurgence in a big way and the bucket hat has been riding that wave. If you haven’t already got in on the act, the Lando Norris Glitch Bucket Hat is a great place to start. Plus, it’s camo, and in the words of Lando Norris, “Who doesn’t like camo?” To be fair, he’s got a point – and if you’re looking for more camo, we’ve got New Era 9FORTY and 9FIFTY caps featuring the same Glitch motif.

New Era Cap Carrier

OK, this definitely isn’t a cap. You can’t even wear it on your head. Well, you could, but even the most fashion-forward fan probably couldn’t pull it off. Instead, the New Era Cap Carrier is the perfect place to keep your cap collection out of harm’s way. Be warned though, it can only fit six caps, so for all you hardcore McLaren cap addicts, another may be needed… or five.
