Our racing heritage
Born racers.
Our story is one of restless technical development, characterised by gritty tales of heroism and human endeavour.
It started in 1963 when Bruce McLaren created our team and forged it in his image. A racing driver to his core, Bruce surrounded himself with people who fit a strict criteria: dreamers, for whom racing was their whole life. Talent was important, but hard work, determination and a relentless lust for racing more so.
That’s why, when our team was torn apart by his death just seven years later, they dragged themselves back into the factory, using their pain to inspire a heroic and long-lasting rebuild in his name, laying the foundations for McLaren to become one of the most successful teams in motorsport.
Since then, McLaren drivers have stood on the top step of the podium in the greatest races in history, from the Can-Am Series, to the Indy 500, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Formula 1 World Championship and more recently, Formula E and F1 Sim Racing, each taking up its own significant chapter of our history book.

Story of the Triple Crown
The Indianapolis 500, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Monaco Grand Prix are three entirely different but equally challenging races. Only the best of the best win one, let alone two, so the winners of all three are legendary.
Pursuit of the Triple Crown
We tell the story of Bruce McLaren's pursuit of the Triple Crown.
Bruce won the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Monaco Grand Prix but sadly never got his hands on the Indianapolis 500’s Borg-Warner Trophy before his death. However, the team he created in his name, McLaren Racing, has won all three.
We're proud to have finished what he started.
