That was the weekend that was

The French Grand Prix according to social media

For a weekend that started with so many positives, it felt like we came away with less than we deserved at the French Grand Prix, but double points are not to be sniffed at. And with upgrades successfully delivered, it feels like a good time to reflect and appreciate the hard work going on back home at the McLaren Technology Centre.

There's always an air of uncertainty heading to a race with upgrades, but we depart France that bit wiser, with a lot learned and even more tested. We also picked up a nice tan and ate a few too many croissants, but enough about our race weekend, what about yours? Here's the French Grand Prix, according to you wonderful lot on social media.

We started as we meant to go on…

Marmalade, we assume?

Well, it's not French, but we certainly approve.

Time to take care of some important business…

Just making dreams come true here at McLaren. How does it feel to be featured, @TeamL4NDO?

Speaking of dreams come true, this was a childhood goal achieved.

We said we learned a lot during the French Grand Prix, and that includes Lando, who can now crack an egg thanks to our Crêpe Challenge.

It was a messy start to the weekend, but cleaning up aside, the Crêpe Challenge went down a treat (pun intended).

Although, we’re not sure quite everybody would have approved. Hopefully, no one showed Gordon Ramsay…

We never expected the crêpe challenge to turn into a side hustle, but if Yamaha can make motorcycles and pianos, we can race cars and make crêpes.

Filing under "things we love to see."

Time to ditch the kitchen utensils and flour and get down to work. Given the heat in France, this felt like a literal case of 'out of the frying pan and into the fire.'

This is all of us.

Five top 10 finishes from three sessions and a ton of laps completed gave us a solid grounding ahead of qualifying.

Lando put himself between the Mercedes in fifth with a superb lap.

Gordon Ramsay gets his second mention of the weekend.

Okay, we promise…

Initially qualifying in 11th, Daniel was promoted two places, with Carlos Sainz and Kevin Magnussen receiving penalties.

It was finally race day, and you know what that means? More croissants.

Disclaimer: alternative French foods are available.

Time to find out where you were all watching from.

Manifesting a double-points finish.

Double-points successfully manifested, with Lando finishing seventh and Daniel in his starting place of ninth. There had been plenty of back-and-forth, but we'd all take it.

This one went out to the MTC crew, who worked their socks off to deliver a successful upgrade on time. Keep it up, team, we're in this fight together.

'Ferris' play. This is 'wheely' cool.

Time for our weekly birthday cake… These keep getting better and better.

Whose Hungary for more? It's race week again!
