ReLIVE the Spanish GP
From lights out to the chequered flag, McLaren LIVE provided exclusive regular updates and radio chat LIVE from inside the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes garage at the 2013 Spanish Grand Prix. Here's your chance to ReLIVE all the action as it unfolded.
On the Grid
The cars are on the grid, the grandstands are packed and we're ready for an intriguing race.
It's currently 34°C but when the sun's out it's around 36-37°C.
The front of the grid is coming around the final corner, the noise is immense as they all do burn-outs. Getting ready to go!
Lights out!
The Spanish Grand Prix is GO! Great start from Checo up to P6 but Jenson drops to P17.
Everyone starting on the Medium tyre except CHI, BIA and PIC.
Lap 2
The order is ROS, VET, ALO, HAM, RAI, MAS, Checo, SUT, GRO, DIR. Jenson is P17.
Checo radio talk: "That's a good start, let's make sure we look after these tyres."
Lap 7
No change in the order. Checo P7, sandwiched between MAS and SUT in the DRS zone. Jenson still P17, 1.8s behind GUT.
Pitstops starting for the front runners, they started on used Option tyres.
Checo comes into the pits, takes on a set of Prime tyres and hammers out again.
Lap 12
Jenson into the pits, lightening stop, takes on the hard tyre.
Jenson radio talk: "You're racing at the exit, use KERS."
Lap 14
ALO leads from VET, MAS, ROS, RAI, WEB, Checo, DIR, HAM, RIC. Jenson is up to P14.
Checo radio talk: "This pace is really good. WEB and ROS in front are struggling with their tyres. Keep this pace up, this is really good. Let's get past WEB."
Lap 21
A second round of pitstops begins, MAS, WEB and SUT all stop, ALO follows a lap later.
Jenson radio talk: "WEB closing up. We need to run our own race. You're doing a really good job. Temperatures look good."
Lap 24
Checo radio talk: "Box this lap. Drive straight out, use KERS, don't lift, you will be racing cars."
Checo pits and takes on another set of Prime tyres.
Lap 27
A jumbled field at the moment as different strategies come into play. Jenson is now running in P8, and Checo in P11.
Lap 29
Jenson pits and takes on another set of Prime tyres.
Jenson radio talk: "Box this lap, box this lap, push now."
Jenson radio talk: "Pitstop was good. You bagged a place."
With second stops completed ALO leads from MAS, VET, RAI, WEB, DIR, HUL, Checo, ROS, RIC. Jenson is now P13 and moving up through the order.
Lap 35
ALO leads MAS, RAI, VET, WEB, DIR, HUL, ROS, RIC, Checo and GUT. Jenson is P12.
It's a relatively quiet phase of the race but there's a real sense that pieces are being put into place for a grand finale.
Lap 38
Checo into the pits, takes the Option tyres. Very sharp work.
Checo radio talk: "We're racing on the way out. Use KERS and don't lift."
Lap 40
Jenson takes the place around the outside into Turn One. Round of applause in the garage.
Jenson radio talk: "Car ahead is ROS, he's lapping at 1:31.8."
Lap 44
Both cars in the points positions. The order is ALO, RAI, MAS, VET, WEB, ROS, Jenson, DIR, GUT, Checo. Different strategies in play.
Lap 47
Jenson radio talk: "Box this lap. Box."
Jenson takes on another set of Prime tyres for this stint. 18 laps of the Spanish Grand Prix to go.
Jenson in P12 after his stop, hunting down HAM and GUT immediately in front of him.
Lap 51
Checo radio talk: "Box this lap, box this lap."
Checo radio talk: "Racing cars on the exit. Use KERS, stay right of the white line."
Checo makes his fourth stop, swaps from the Options to the Prime.
Lap 54
The order is ALO leading by 10s from RAI, MAS, VET, WEB, DIR, ROS, GUT, Jenson and Checo. 12 more laps of the Spanish Grand Prix.
Jenson is 0.6s behind GUT and 3.3s ahead of Checo. Lots of action to come in this race.
Jenson radio talk: "We're going to need the tyres in good condition at the end of the stint. Keep looking after them."
Lap 56
GUT pits, Jenson now P8, 2.2s behind DIR and 2.2s ahead of Checo in P9.
0.7s between Jenson and Checo now.
Lap 60
ALO leads by 13s from RAI, MAS, VET, WEB, ROS, DIR, Jenson, Checo and RIC.
Lap 65
Checo radio talk: "One more lap after this one."
Lap 66 - Chequered Flag!
ALO wins his home grand prix, followed by RAI, MAS, VET, WEB, ROS, DIR, Jenson, Checo and RIC.
Checo radio talk: "Really good discipline in that drive. Great job, we'll see you back here shortly."
