McLaren Applied is today announcing a disruptive new solution for high quality WiFi performance on fast-moving fleets. Fleet Connect’s algorithms can aggregate any available network regardless of its source, including 4G, 5G, mmWave and WiFi, at high speed. The result is game-changing connectivity and a seamless, connected passenger experience.
The technology behind Fleet Connect has its roots in McLaren’s Formula 1 cars, where connectivity and reliable real-time decision making plays a key role in performance on the racetrack. The results speak for themselves, with the 2020 National Passenger Survey showing that transport operators using Fleet Connect received the highest satisfaction levels in the UK for passenger WiFi. In just 12 months, passenger satisfaction increased by 55 per cent. At the same time, we continuously deliver the highest service levels in the industry.
Fleet Connect offers up to a 10 Gbps platform, an industry first for UK rail. It brings high-speed connectivity to a range of systems across rail fleets, from passenger information, to Electric Point of Sale (EPOS), CCTV video analytics and passenger Wi-Fi.
