Ian Rhodes appointed CEO of McLaren Applied Technologies
McLaren Applied Technologies is pleased to announce that Ian Rhodes has today begun a new role as the Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Applied Technologies.
During a thirty year career in high technology industries, Ian has held a number of leadership positions in blue chip organisations. Most recently he has been a Senior Partner at PA Consulting Group, where he led the company’s healthcare and life sciences business. In that role, Ian delivered significant growth in revenue and profitability, while achieving widespread respect for his forward thinking approach to healthcare delivery.
Reporting to Ron Dennis CBE, Chief Executive and Chairman of the McLaren Group, and working with the existing, highly capable, leadership team of McLaren Applied Technologies, Ian will be responsible for achieving significant growth for the company, as it continues to capitalise upon McLaren’s world class expertise, ground breaking technology and unrivalled brand.
Discussing his appointment, Ian Rhodes said: “First of all, I regard this appointment as an honour, a privilege and a wonderful opportunity.
“McLaren Applied Technologies is already a by-word for high technology innovation and for achieving results where other companies have repeatedly tried and failed. For years, I have watched from afar with admiration.’
“Like the existing team at McLaren I believe that the company can, however, achieve so much more and I believe that I can contribute to accelerated growth and even greater recognition. I will certainly work tirelessly to ensure we can achieve the challenging goals we have set ourselves.”
Ron Dennis CBE said: “Ian’s appointment is an integral part of delivering my vision for the McLaren Group.
“McLaren is synonymous with success on the track. But we have grown and diversified to a point where today we are a highly respected global technology company, which is far more than just a racing team.’
“My vision for the future is that McLaren Applied Technologies will continue to grow rapidly, taking on new challenges and ultimately making a positive difference to society.’
“McLaren Applied Technologies is a world leader in disciplines which will shape the world in the decades to come, including simulation, composite materials; aerodynamics, data analytics, advanced electronic systems and high performance design. Ian will now play a central role in harnessing and commercialising that world class ability, to achieve great things.”
