By working with teams in the technically demanding world of motorsport – particularly supplying fuels and Mobil 1 lubricants, and working with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team in Formula 1 – ExxonMobil has used motorsport as a high-performance test bed to improve its consumer products, taking what it has learned in the extremes of motorsport to consumers, through better protection, reduced friction and improved fuel economy.
